PRAY
What is prayer?
Prayer is a conversation with God.
You Can Talk to God
You don’t have to know the right words. You don’t have to be a “perfect” Christian. You don’t have to have everything figured out.
Just come as you are
God wants you to know Him, and He invites you to bring your whole heart to Him.
Start Here
1. Know Who You’re Speaking To
Come before God knowing that He is your loving Father, Creator, and King. You can approach Him because of Jesus.
2. Thank God
Take a moment to thank Him. Thank Him for who He is, for His love, and for the things He’s placed in your life.
3. Ask for God’s Will
Give God your plans and desires. Ask Him to lead you and help you trust His ways.
“Your will be done.” — Matthew 6:10
4. Tell Him What You Need
Talk to God about what’s on your heart. Bring Him your worries, questions, hopes, relationships, decisions, and needs.
“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” — 1 Peter 5:7
5. Ask for Forgiveness
Be honest about your sin. Confess it to God, receive His forgiveness, and ask Him to help you walk in His ways.
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins.” — 1 John 1:9
6. Pray With Someone
You don’t have to pray alone. Ask a trusted friend, family member, or fellow believer to pray with you.
“Pray for one another.” — James 5:16
7. Pray God’s Word
Let Scripture become part of your prayers. Find a verse that speaks to what you’re walking through and talk to God about it.
8. Memorize Scripture
Keep God’s Word close to your heart. As you memorize Scripture, you’ll carry His truth with you wherever you go.
“I have stored up your word in my heart.” — Psalm 119:11

You Can Make It Your Own
These aren’t magic words or prayers you have to repeat perfectly.
Talk to God honestly.
Bring Him your whole heart.
Listen to His Word.
Trust Him with your life.
Your prayer can start with just one sentence:
“God, I need You.”
Keep Talking to God
Prayer doesn’t have to be perfect or complicated. Keep coming back to God. Talk to Him throughout your day, bring Him what is on your heart, and make space to listen through His Word.
Whether you have five minutes or just a few seconds, God invites you into conversation with Him.
Start where you are.
Talk to God.
Trust Him with the rest.
“Pray without ceasing.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:17
